At Lineage BJJ, your journey is guided by the standards of Grandmaster Relson Gracie—son of Helio Gracie, undefeated Brazilian National Champion for 22 straight years, and one of the most accomplished figures in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu history.
Though he now resides in Brazil, Relson continues to be a direct influence on our academy. Each year, he returns to teach seminars, host private lessons, and ensure that our training reflects the true Gracie method. Students here don’t just learn Jiu-Jitsu—they gain rare opportunities to train with a living legend and the royal family of the art.
For more than 30 years, Professor Jim Thrift has trained under Relson and the Gracie family. Relson is Jim’s mentor, coach, and friend—the overseer of our technical foundation. That connection also brings other Gracie family members and world-class competitors into our academy, offering students the best of both worlds: authentic Gracie self-defense and insights from today’s top-level athletes.
