BJJ For your Body
When new students have reservations about their physical conditioning, age, or imagine every one of our classes looks like a MMA tournament for men in their 20s, they naturally hesitate to give BJJ a try.
We understand those barriers exist. While some of our students do train hard (and very successfully) for competition, we don’t expect or desire every student’s goal to be the same.
You can make Jiu-Jitsu right for you, your life, and your body, and our job as instructors is to help you maximize your effectiveness on our mats and reach your potential.
Our staff enjoys teaching to the full range of BJJ student; whether your intention is to compete in the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, get in better shape, or simply be safer walking to your car in the dark, we have something to offer you. There in teaching, and our coach’s unique styles and specialties compliment one another.
As you do your 2-week trial, and our instructors get to know you, we can start helping you shape your BJJ game around your goals.
Just like any student new to BJJ, every one of our instructors went through the process of personalizing their practice. Over the years, they developed their own styles, preferences, and adaptations for their unique physical gifts and limitations. Now, they lean on those experience to help others grow.
As you spend time with us, you’ll begin to learn what works for you, where there’s room for improvement, and when it’s better to to just say “no.”
Your personal BJJ can be safe, calculated, and completely tailored to your abilities.
Safety is #1
For every student, regardless of goals, safety is always number one. Our etiquette, rules for safety, and cleanliness are applicable to everyone. When it comes to experience level, we’re careful to ensure our beginners tailor their experience in a way that keeps them from getting hurt. And of course, if you have particular injuries, please let your instructors know ahead of class so they can make recommendations.
In addition to our rules, you’ll find a healthy culture of respect woven throughout; higher belts look out for lower belts and share their expertise. People with similar body types offer their hard-learned accommodations and options to others.
If you’re still not sure if BJJ is right for you, our two week trial is a great place to start. Reach out today and try our classes risk-free.
